Tall Life: A new book for tall people

I would like to introduce you to my new book called Tall Life.

The purpose of the book is to raise awareness for some of the issues we tall people face as well as to present some solutions. The eight chapters are: Evolution, Scaling, Spine, Manufactured, Ergonomics, Growth, Longevity, and Society. There is also an afterward where I tell my own tall tale of becoming a chronic back pain sufferer but then recovering.

The book is both for tall people and those that relate to us. The latter will include medical and exercise professionals etc. It is somewhat scientific, but still easy for the average reader and should be quite entertaining too.

Ordering a special-size mattress...advice?

Hi Folks,

I found this website last week. Perhaps you can help me with this...my son is 14, 6'1", 220, and hasn't hit his growth spurt yet. Doc guesses he will get to 6'6" or 6'8". He needs a new bed, but his bedroom just isn't big enough for a California King mattress.

Recently we heard of a mattress size called a California Queen. It is the length of a Cal. King, but only the width of a regular queen. It is only available in special order. We tried to order through Mattress Warehouse, but they are giving us a variety of difficulties, and we want to try to order elsewhere.

Have you ever had a special order mattress made? Can you suggest a company that handled it well, or one to avoid? In general, I know how to choose a mattress, but this special order thing is turning out to be a real pain.

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a zero gravity chair that is going to be comfortable for my skinny 6' 3" frame. It seems a lot of chairs claim to be for tall people but some of the reviews indicate things like metal bars in bad places etc. Anyone have any personal experience with a zero gravity chair that is truly comfortable for a tall person?

i ...I'm from Australia and have 3 boys and two are 6'3" and still growing. Eldest is 16, then 15 and the 12 year old is about 5'4". Oldest two are expected to hit about 6'5" and I am trying to get ideas for a people Mover. They are too tall far any over here (have just outgrown a Hyundai Trajet) and I am not wanting to go into a small bus. I need them to be able to sit in any row. A possibility is the imported Nissan Elgrand and the boys have sat in one but not that many inches to spare. Does anyone else have a Nissan Elgrand or can advise about people movers.
